Big Gigantic

BIO:

Big Gigantic is a trailblazing electronic duo from Boulder, Colorado, celebrated for fusing saxophone, drums, and forward-thinking production into a genre-defying sound that bridges jazz, funk, hip-hop, and bass music. Formed in 2008 by Dominic Lalli (a classically trained saxophonist and producer with a master’s from the Manhattan School of Music) and Jeremy Salken (a lifelong drummer and touring musician), the group has become a cornerstone of the U.S. live electronic music scene.

Their high-energy performances—anchored by Lalli’s electrifying sax leads and Salken’s thunderous drumming—have captivated crowds at some of the world’s most iconic festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Ultra, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, Austin City Limits, and Outside Lands. Internationally, they’ve brought their sound across Europe, South America, and Asia.

Big Gigantic's discography includes 10 studio projects, starting with Fire It Up and Wide Awake (2009), and spanning fan-favorite albums like Nocturnal (2012), The Night Is Young (2014), Brighter Future (2016), and Free Your Mind (2020). Their 2022 album, Brighter Future 2, showcases a wide-ranging list of collaborators including Aloe Blacc, GRiZ, Elohim, Vic Mensa, and Kota the Friend - blending sax-fueled festival bangers with emotional, pop-leaning electronica.

Their breakout model of giving away music for free early on helped them amass a grassroots following - taking cues from Colorado innovators like Pretty Lights and STS9. They’ve since built an independent empire rooted in authenticity, musicality, and community.

Since 2012, the duo has hosted their flagship event Rowdytown at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, selling out the iconic venue annually with next-level visuals and curated lineups. Now entering its 13th year, Rowdytown has evolved into an immersive experience featuring unique themed sets, 3D production, and a loyal fanbase that returns year after year.

Beyond the stage, Big Gigantic is deeply committed to philanthropy. In 2016, they launched A Big Gigantic Difference Foundation, donating a portion of every ticket sold to charitable causes around the country. Their work with Denver nonprofit Youth on Record helped fund a computer lab for underserved youth to explore music production - an extension of their belief in music as a tool for empowerment.

Big Gigantic is also known for their side projects and collaborations. They are core members of Gigantic Underground Conspiracy, a jamtronica supergroup featuring members of The Disco Biscuits and Underground Orchestra, and part of Big Grizmatik alongside GRiZ and Gramatik.

Through over a decade of touring, studio work, and creative evolution, Big Gigantic has become more than a live act - they’re a cultural force. Whether playing massive festivals, collaborating across genres, or giving back to the community, Dominic and Jeremy continue to push the boundaries of live electronic music while inspiring the next generation to dream big.
